Extended Opening Hours

Our extended opening hours are:

  • Wednesdays 6.30pm to 7.45pm once a month
  • Thursdays 6.30pm to 7.45pm

What services are available in Extended Hours ?

Prebooked appointments will be available during these extended opening times. You will be able to book these appointments either by telephone or at reception, in the same way you book any other appointments at the surgery.

Some GP appointments are available, as well as appointments with the Practice Pharmacist for medication reviews.  We also offer a 'one stop shop' for patients with long term conditions and offer appointments for reviews with the nurse or healthcare assistant followed by a medication review with our pharmacist. New patient health checks and appointments for weight management are also available during this time.

Patients who attend the surgery without a prebooked appointment during these times WILL NOT be seen by a GP or any other clinician , but will be redirected to the Out of Hours service.

What services are NOT available in Extended Hours ?

You will not be able to telephone the surgery during these times, all calls will be redirected to the Out of Hours Service.

Nurse appointments are limited during this time and this means patients are not able to book extended hours appointments for travel vaccinations/fitting of contraceptive devices or dressings etc.

There is also no facility to have blood samples taken during these times as samples cannot be stored overnight.

In Summary

We will, of course, review this service at regular intervals so please feel free to pass any comments on to staff or complete a Friends and Family Test.

If you have any other questions about the extended opening hours, please speak to Reception staff who will be happy to help.
